A parcel of land formerly the site of the Dog and Duck public house alongside the New Bedford River.

The land is alongside the river and was the site for the Dog and Duck public house, first licenced in 1794 and built by the Bedford Level Corporation. The pub licence was not renewed in 1931 and reverted to a domestic dwelling and was demolished in the mid 1950s. The land, with the necessary planning permission, could have various uses. The current owners are including a shepherd's hut which can be viewed at a different location. Access is via the Environment Agency's secure track. The site has the famous Welney Wetlands close by and the Wetlands Centre. Welney is located between Ely and Downham Market both with mainline rail links into London. The land was part of the Mr Lester Burrell estate.
